Gender & Inclusion: Inclusive development: challenges and opportunities Round 1
Poverty, disability, gender, and language barriers are some of the major issues that drive exclusion from education on all levels, affecting women and girls in particular. This session will focus on the relentless efforts of our partners over the years towards inclusive education systems. Together with experts from the field we will engage in a dynamic conversation on what we have achieved and reflections on innovative and practical solutions for more inclusive education in the future. The session will look through the lens of inclusive education systems and highlight results achieved on individual, institutional and organisational levels.
Digitalisation: Bridging the digital divide in education
Digitalisation is a key aspect of the development of education in the Global South and even more prominent than ever due to the Covid pandemic. Over the last two years Nuffic, together with sister organisations British Council (UK), DAAD (DE) and Campus France (FR) have done exploratory work on the impact of digitalisation on capacity building and development of education. In this session, we will engage in a discussion on how to approach digitalisation of education in capacity building and training and what this means for both users, like students and teachers, as well as institutions and governments. Of course, we will also pay attention to the digital divide and explore solutions that make sure nobody gets left behind.
Youth & employability: 21st century skills and decent work Round 1
During the Youth and Employability workshop we will dive into the long tradition Nuffic has when it comes to supporting the strengthening of education systems, specifically aiming at improving access to the labour market, especially for youth. We will ensure a lively and energizing discussions in the workshop, by inviting experts working in the sector in the MENA/WANA and Asia regions, who will provide interesting examples on how to build educational structures that enhance the success in finding a job or starting an own business.
Climate: Catalysts for change Round 1
The consequences of global climate change imply enormous challenges and risks for food security and livelihoods of large populations especially in fragile and low-income countries. How can knowledge and skills development programmes contribute adequately to mitigation and adaptation strategies. Inspired by good examples, this workshop aims at providing the audience with the opportunity to:1) Share inspiring practices; 2) identify challenges and, 3) formulate recommendations for better consideration of climate-related issues in “the education systems”
Food & Nutrition Security: Local needs and global insights Round 1
The session will provide a brief overview of FNS projects in Southeast Asia, which aimed at contributing to improve quality of higher education and TVET in ways that will help to achieve the SDGs. Efforts and achievements will be highlighted on collaboration between institutions, innovative educational approaches, and a campaign to engage youth in the agriculture and food sector in Southeast Asia and drive changes to transform the sector in the region.
Partnerships: Linking continents and minds
What do partnerships at Nuffic look like? What should they look like in the future? Different partners – varying from global to local – will present the power of partnerships through their own experiences!
