Symposium Shaping Futures header

This April we celebrated seven decades of international knowledge cooperation, a joyous occasion that called for an event where we reflect on the impact we have made and the challenges that the world faces present day. Together with our national and international partners,- we created an unforgettable symposium “Shaping Futures’. We hope you had a good time, just like we had. We look back on a day full of inspiring speakers, new insights and warm encounters.

Since our inception in 1952, our work is centred around international knowledge exchange by strengthening education systems and investing in empowerment of people across the world. During our symposium, we looked back on the journey so far and share experiences of our many companions who have joined our efforts in the past years.

Participants were welcome to engage in conversations on the role of the Netherlands and our international partners with respect to knowledge cooperation for development.

Our symposium commenced with a reflection on Nuffic’s global development initiatives. Followed by a series of digital roundtables where leading experts were sharing their views on international knowledge cooperation through the lens of policy, shared experiences and building bridges. Presenter Marijke Roskam guided us through the conversations. The themes were deepened during digital break-out sessions, showcasing what we have jointly achieved in the past decades. Offline participants got to engage in table discussions on the same topics, exchanging and learning on the spot. During these interactive sessions Nuffic Alumni, as ‘change agents’ and leaders of the future, together with our Dutch and international partners have discussed inspiring projects and initiatives, and exchanged on the impact they achieved on individual, institutional and organisational levels.
